I am sitting here watching Gracyn playing on the floor. She is playing with her books, her babies, her blocks, and a DVD cover. She'll play a little and stop and take a drink of her grape water from her sippy. I am amazed by her. She is without a doubt the most amazing thing ever. I am so thankful for her. She gets bigger, stronger, more independent, anything/everything everyday.
She just crawled across the floor to get a picture of herself that we laminated. She is so freaking fantastic I cannot stand it!
I love being her Mommy :)

I am a mother, a wife, a teacher, a daughter, a friend, a confidante...you name it. During the day, I am a high school English teacher at an inner-city high school. At night, I am a mommy to Gracyn, wife to Dave, step-mom to Nate, etc. To be able to retain some of being a woman, and not just a mom or a teacher, I am also a lia sophia Advisor.
Gracyn was diagnosed with a congenital birth defect at 28w and then with Symbrachydactyly in August of 2008. She is willful, driven, stubborn and hell bent on not letting her disability impact her life negatively...gee, I wonder where she gets those qualities?

my one and only child. a combination of the two of us. she has so much to overcome and doesn't even know it. she amazes me daily. her spirit and her will make her a match for any opponent she meets. i love her for all that she is and for all that she has yet to become.
