The Chinese and Old Wives

What do the Chinese and Old Wives have in common? They both have opinions on what the sex of women's babies will be. I found a Chinese gender predictor on www.thenest.com that says based on my age at conception and the month of conception, it's a girl. They say that that thing is over 90% right. As for Old Wives, there are plenty of things that people use as a determining factor, but right now a HB of 171 equals fast and, allegedly, that equals a girl as well.

U/S Pics!

Here are the u/s pictures! It went well. It is measuring at 9w3d (as of 12/26) when I was actually 9w1d. There was a strong heartbeat and it was flailing around in there! The subchronic hemorrhage is dissolving, which is great. I have a confirmed due date of July 30, 2008. We are excited and I go back January 24th. I'll be 13 weeks then! I'll be 10 weeks Tuesday and, so far, haven't put on any weight. Trust me, it isn't for lack of eating. I eat all of the stinking time!

First Maternity Clothes!

I got, and actually bought, my first maternity clothes. I'm not wearing them yet, but a. I got them as a gift and b. Old Navy had maternity clothes 40% off.

A. Sally got me a sweater from Kohls for Christmas. It is cute; very Mandie.
B. Dave and I went to ON because they had 40% off of their maternity clothes. I got 5 pairs of pants (2 khaki, 1 black, 2 jeans) and a few shirts. And, I went online and ordered my jean jacket...I can't not have a jean jacket that fits!

OMG Yes! But, unexpected the month it popped up positive. We'd given up on that month.

Jewish. It'll celebrate both sets of holidays though.

Semi-Related Ramblings of a Woman 7w5d

After having a clothing meltdown the other morning and some reassuring conversations with Dave and some colleagues, I told the kids that I'm pregnant. Their responses varied from period to period. The overall reaction from the sophomores was amazement. The seniors were all in agreement that it explained a lot of my weirdness. Fourth period, the chosen children you might say, had the cutest and best reaction. They clapped and were ecstatic.

On a slightly similar note, seeing as my weight and bloat fluctuates by at least 5 pounds a day, I had to wear my belly band with my jeans on Friday. It was a weird feeling. I was so close to being able to button my jeans, but it wasn't close enough.

I read on babycenter.com that the baby is the size of a blueberry. Dave kept calling it a kidney bean, but he was wrong. Not there yet. When we have our ultrasound on the 26th, it'll be closer to a kidney bean.

Cravings, well sort-of

I have a thing for Sugar Free Fruit Punch Kool Aid. It is delicious! I drink it with everything. Morning, noon, and night! I had it with raw green beans, a peanut butter sandwich, even meatloaf!
