#1 - I went to return my pump today, drying up despite efforts to increase supply, and I weighed Gracyn at Riverside's Women's Center weigh station. She weighed: 6 lbs 8.4 oz! I was so happy I could've cried!
#2 - I had to get clothes for work yesterday, as I am not losing 10 lbs in the next week and a half, and am only up one pant size from my pre-pregnant self. 10 to a 12 and mostly in my hips.
#3 - Went to dentist today. I have to have two cavities filled next week. Ug.

I am a mother, a wife, a teacher, a daughter, a friend, a confidante...you name it. During the day, I am a high school English teacher at an inner-city high school. At night, I am a mommy to Gracyn, wife to Dave, step-mom to Nate, etc. To be able to retain some of being a woman, and not just a mom or a teacher, I am also a lia sophia Advisor.
Gracyn was diagnosed with a congenital birth defect at 28w and then with Symbrachydactyly in August of 2008. She is willful, driven, stubborn and hell bent on not letting her disability impact her life negatively...gee, I wonder where she gets those qualities?

my one and only child. a combination of the two of us. she has so much to overcome and doesn't even know it. she amazes me daily. her spirit and her will make her a match for any opponent she meets. i love her for all that she is and for all that she has yet to become.
